Giving

There are a number of ways in which financial giving can happen at LFC. These are set out below in brief. If you would like to take up one of these schemes or change the way in which you currently give, please speak to the Treasurer or any of the leadership team.

The Offering
The Offering is taken during every Sunday morning service. It is very important to note that there is absolutely no requirement for anybody to give. Many allow the offering bags to pass them by because they are participating in other giving schemes or because they are visitors. In order to make your offering most tax efficient, we encourage you to use the envelope scheme (see below) or gift-aid envelopes which are available from the back of the church or Stewards.

Card Reader
The Church also provides card reader facilities for in-person payment should this be preferred.

Online Payments
We are presently exploring how we offer this as a service.

Standing Order & Bank Transfers
Standing Order is our preferred method of giving because it is the most efficient for yourself and LFC as there no additional transaction fees taken from your giving. Simply set up a standing order with your bank for the amount you wish to regularly give, specify the regularity and day on which the payment should be made and everything is arranged.

Please request a Standing Order form  from the treasurer or set up your Standing Order electronically using the details below (see Bank Transfer section).

If you are a UK taxpayer, please also complete a gift-aid declaration which means we can make your financial gift tax efficient (see below). You can request a Gift Aid form from the treasurer.

The Envelope Scheme
This is an organised scheme whereby you become a registered but anonymous giver. You will be issued with a supply of small envelopes with your own personal registration number printed on it. Simply place your giving (cash or cheque) into the envelope, seal it, and place this into the Offering bag when it is circulated during morning worship. If you are a UK taxpayer, please also complete a gift-aid declaration which means we can make your financial gift tax efficient (see below). Please make cheques payable to 'Langley Free Church'.

One-Off Financial Donation
You may feel more comfortable making a one-off financial donation - this can either be discussed with one of our Leadership Team, our Treasurer or made anonymously.

Legacy - Remembering Langley Free Church In Your Will
Leaving a legacy is a truly fantastic way of providing financial help to Langley Free Church's mission and ministry. If this is something which you are contemplating, may we thank you greatly, in advance!

Bank Transfer
You might be interested to know that you can make payments electronically from your bank account into the Langley Free Church bank account. If this is something you would like to do, please talk to the Finance Team about this. They would happily give you the information needed to do this.

Gift Aid
Whichever way you choose, we are extremely grateful - why not ensure you Gift Aid it?

If you are a UK taxpayer please request for Gift Aid form. By completing and returning this form, we can increase your financial gift by further 25% by reclaiming the tax from the Inland Revenue. This one declaration is effective for the whole time you are a UK taxpayer. If you stop paying tax you will need to notify us.

"How Much Should I Give...?"
The church does not dictate how much one should give but these two verses should be good guidance as to how much one can decide to give:

Corinthians 9:7: “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Malachi 3:10  “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
